·
WEBSITE:
It is critical to set up your own website so you can display your own content
and ads. If you can write and develop good content, you can get enough clicks
on ads to make hundreds or thousands a day like some of the successful indie
artists we know. We personally know one small town artist making $5,000 –
$7,000 a day on Adsense, and he’s only 19!
·
UPLOAD
AND GET PAID: It sounds crazy, but there is a cool
site called Share Cash that will allow you to upload your mp3’s so your fans
can download them for free. When they download your mp3’s, you get paid
anywhere from $1 to $20 per song download from ad displays.
·
AFFILIATE
AD:
You can partner with a nice ad network that will allow you to place ads and
sponsored content from other advertisers (they look like random interesting
articles, I’m sure you’ve seen them before). Every time someone clicks on the
sponsored ad, you get paid.
·
ADSENSE:
If you are a publisher of music videos or original video content, you can sign
up for an Adsense account and connect it with your YouTube account. YouTube
will pay you pennies each time your video is played. It’s only pennies, but it
all adds up! There are independent artists making six and seven figures off of
YouTube alone.
·
CLOTHING
LINE: If you can build a medium sized audience and fan
base, then package a promotion together for a clothing line. Offer them weekly
posts on your social media, and direct email blasts to your fans about their
line. There is not one company that will not listen. Clothing lines, and
related companies are ALWAYS looking to get their stuff on artists just like
you!
·
COMMISSION:
Once you have your fans and email lists successfully in place, you can sell
services from other companies to other artists and collect a commission. For
example, if you have a great video promo company you hired, you can re-sell
their services to another artist and collect a small commission from the
company. There are plenty of artists selling other services making six and
seven figures
·
COLLABORATION:
When you get to a point where you have a large enough fan base on social media,
you can charge other artists thousands of dollars to collaborate with you.
Offer them not only collaboration, but a massive promotion package of the song
when it comes out. Offer them posts of the collab on social media, your email
lists, and whatever other vehicle you have to promote the collaboration, not
just a collab.
·
FACEBOOK
ADVERTIZING: Facebook has one of the
best direct to fan advertising systems. You can easily reach a large amount of
fans for a very small amount of money. Once you have your fan base in line on
Facebook, you can post blogs from your own website, with your sponsored ads.
Again, when people click on them, you get paid. You can also charge other
people money to post stuff on your Facebook page if you have enough likes and
fans.
·
MERCHANDISING:
Ask any successful artist where the money comes from, and one of them will be
merchandising. When you have enough emails and fans, merchandise is critical to
your income as an artist. You should also have merchandise for sale at every
event and show you do. Even if you did the show for free, you can still sell
your CD’s and clothing. Even if you sold only one shirt or item per day, it all
adds up at the end of the month. Online merchandising and sales through your
own website over time can generate millions. Successful artists who sell
merchandise on their websites generate thousands and many times millions of
dollars in revenue. We’ve seen many successful cases of millionaire artists
make through merchandising alone.
·
STUDIO
TIME: another way to earn good
morning is to produce other musician and charge them for the production fees
this will include instrumentals, recording editing mixing and mastering of both
audio and video clips.
· SHOWS & EVENTS:
this will involve the management (dj and mc) of others people social
Event such as birthday parties, wedding anniversaries, naming ceremony,
reception, shows, fiesta, carnival etc.
